Always and Forever

The novel Always and Forever by Lurlene McDaniel is and awesome book. Its about a girl named Melissa who is diagnosed with cancer four months into grade 12. Her gym teacher sees bruises on her legs and so she tells the school counsellor. They suspect that Melissa's mother is abusing her, and Melissa freaks at them all. She has a very lovely family and no one should be accusing anyone of beating her. She tells her mother, and she goes to get checked out. The doctor does a bone marrow test and finds that she has cancer. Her best friend Jory, helps her through this. Always there for Melissa. She even cut Melissa's hair to help her cope with little to no hair before she goes bald completely from chemotherapy. She also meets a boy in the hospital, his room is next door. He has lost his leg to cancer, but hes still helping her fight through her disease, giving her strength, and hope. He goes into remission though, while Melissa is left in the hospital. Micheal, her older brother is also there for her all they way. He visited her, and he also did a bone marrow test to see if he was a compatible donner for Melissa. Melissa is and incredibly smart student waiting to go on to the Brian Bowl competition, with the boy that she likes, but will she gather the strength to pull through cancer, or will it fight he over? Will she have a normal life ever again? Will anyone ever want her now, that she looks shinny, pale and has no more beautiful long hair on her head? Six Months to Live

In Lurlene McDaniel's Six Months To Live Dawn Rochelle is a Young teenage girl at the age of thirteen when she finds out that she has cancer. In the hospital, she had a room mate, of the same age, her name was Sandy Chandler. They did everything together, from counselling to fashion to games and sharing their inner most thoughts. After four months of spending time in the hospital together, Sandy goes into remission. Dawn misses her friend, but two weeks later Dawn goes into remission too. they write letters back and forth to keep up to date. summer comes and they decide that it might be fun to go to "cancer camp" so they can see each other. They go there and find two young guys, Greg and Mike. Greg hooks up with Dawn, and Mike with Sandy. Mike had bone cancer and part of his left leg, just below the knee was amputated, but this didn't keep them from having fun. they pulled pranks, went swimming, did a bunch of stuff that made the two weeks of camp see to fly bye. It was three weeks after camp, that Sandy wrote a letter to Dawn, saying that she was no longer in remission. 5 stars.
What do you think will happen to Sandy? Will she get better? How will Dawn react when she reads the letter? Will this affect their friendship? What about the boys? Will they ever see Dawn and Sandy again?

Telling Christina Goodbye

This is an Amazing book called Telling Christina Goodbye by Lurlene McDaniel about a teenage girl in high school and her and her group of friends/her life in general. She is the kindest person and everyone loves her except for shes in a relationship where her boyfriend doesn't appreciate her as much as she does him. Everyone is telling her shes to good for him, and that she should break-up with him. One night she hits a patch of black ice and has a car accident. She dies and everyone is incredibly upset and they finally realize (her BF included) what a pity it was that she didn't get as much love as she gave in her life, and how much you should appreciate everything you have, and live your life to the fullest. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves sad stories that relate to real life situations. 5 stars.

How does Christinas boyfriend react to her death? Are there any regrets for the way he treated her?
